whats the biggest Eheim sump pump they do

I'm setting up a 6x2x2 sump and want a turn over of about 12,000-14,000 lph

i was thinking of using 2 x sump pumps in the one sump any other good options would be good but i am a Eheim kinda guy :D

the biggest eheim one i was able to find was the eheim compact 5000, ~£79 off ebay. im using 2 on my new set up when it arrives. from the chart on the box i would estimate approx 8000 l/h max turnover at about 1.5m head, assuming everything is working at max efficiency, with 2 pumps.
i did look for larger pumps but you start getting away from aquarium equipment into pond pumps which burns far more electricity and they arent eheim like you want.

does that need soft hose or can you use hard pipe

i like the look of the compact + 5000

so much so i just got 3 of them for the new tank :D

now for my next ?

if im turning over 15,000 lph what size drain pipes will i need

im going to have 2 weirs one in each corner but what size drain hose do i need to cope easy with that turn over

i may add another pump at a later date so lets say to cope with 20,000 lph

the sump is going to be big 6x2x2

Sorry can't help you, but couldn't help commenting; that's a big sump! How big is your tank?

tank will be 8x4 and 32 inch deep

i was thinking 2 x 1.5 or 2 inch drains in each weir

the only problem with the compact is that is noise even throu it say its quiet but its not i had one so i changed it for a oceanrunner 6500
and that has been perfect for my 4 foot sump

Im going for 1 2" drain in each of the two corner weirs on my 8.5 x32 x28 high with a4x18x18 sump and for a pump i was looking at an ocean runner 6500 but uses too much power at 115watts i think it is,i can get an oase eco 8000 for about £40 more and it uses about 65watts so this thing about pond pumps using more is in my recent research completely wrong, and the head heights are about the same and the flow should be a bit better on the pp,at wharf they have a chart for the power usage of pumps and if you get the specs it should tell you
Just my 2p

i want to run 3 x 5000 lph with returns one at each corner and one in the middle

the pump in the middle will be just to run the 4 x 25w UVs it will giving me 100w of UV this will also help to heat the tank as water will be passing over 4ft of UV :D
