EHEIM VS FLUVAL FX5

I used Eheim Pro2 and Eheim Ecco before. Now I got another Fluval FX5. But seems like the Fx5 makes more noise compare to Eheim filters (no air trap inside for sure). I have the fish tank in my bedroom and I have to say the Eheim filter is deadly silent while the fx5 does make some noise. Does anyone have experience with both Eheim Pro2 and Fluval Fx5? and be able to give me a comparison between them about their noisy?

no ehiem pro2 but other ehiems. ehiems are silent(used literally). the fx5 makes a small amount of noise that tends to blend in to the back ground, think of it like a air vent in a large building. you hear it when it turns on and off but after its been running for a few minutes you don't notice it.

Making a comparison about Eheim ( the 2217 and the 2262 ), both are much silent.

I replace two 2217 by 2262, and the noise isn't different between both.

I think the Eheim would be the quieter filter if you are prepared to pay a bit more. The FX5 is a great filter though but will make more noise, which isn't ideal for when your trying to sleep.

I have an Eheim 2080 and it's pretty much silent, anything would seem quiet after running a Tetratec EX 2400 though.

honestly i own both and my fx5 doesnt seem to clean as well. but yes fx5 is much louder them eheim

im running a fx5 on my tank. it is dead silent for me when im next to it.

if your looking at the tank. the loudest thing you hear is the air pump
