Ehiem Substrate or bioballs

Cell Pore stuff what should i buy the cubes or just some sheets of it to cover the whole top of wetdry, i saw they come 9 inches by 4 inches thick, and have it sitting ontop of the wetdry? Maybe buy 4 of them to cover the bioballs.

That's why people use pot scrubbers instead

I spent a fortune on Bio Balls then discovered the scrubber as it were. Check out this link ok if for ponds but well worth a look.

good link bro, by the way i have decided to use the ehiem scrubbers they look like pot scrubers, and also bioballs, where do the scrubbers go ontop of the bioballs or on bottom.

My self if I was to use the pair I would put the scrubbers on top as they can trap large particles of waste so if you want to wash them through with a bit of tank water its not such an issue.

i got the ehiem pot scrubbers they were on special at my lfs abouut 10.

Where do they go in the wetdry! I will be putting scrubbers, bioballs, bioplastic rings, renafilstars, ehiem substrate, and peat.


Should really work well, i am going to seed the tank with amazon rain and black water extract along with a bioload bottle!

The tank is tall like 30 inches and 18 inches wide is that better? seems to me i would rather have the regular 8 by 2 by 2.

So should i put all the ehiem substrate and biomax and filstars on the bottom of the sump under water while having the bioballs and plastic rings ontop then have the pot scrubbers ontop of the bioballs?
