Elasmobranch ID game

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It pretty sad how little information including photos is available for fairly common species.

I actually had an interesting thought about the two mystery Bamboo sharks.

The Spotted one - is likely the Indian Bamboo (Chiloscyllium indicum)

The Banded one is likely a juvie, like Matt suggested. But one species no one has said it could be yet is the Burma Bamboo (Chiloscyllium burmensis).

Considering this species so far is only been Identified by a Single adult male specimen. And given that this specimen was found in the same general area, and that this specimen is apparently a juvenile or young sub-adult (which is presently unknown for the Burma Bamboo). It's at least a real possibility.

This could mean that we finally have photos for all 7 known species of Bamboos (Chiloscyllium)

Here is one :nutkick:

It has to be a bamboo pup. No idea what species it is though, but ive given everyone enough headaches with the Bamboos for now. :D I just wanted to post the pic since we were back on the Bamboo topic and I think its a good one.
What language is the writing on the bottom right of the pic by the way? It could be a clue. :naughty:

If anyone wants to post a pic up jump in.
