I send the images to Peter Last who has discribed the Proscyllium Magnificum.
Maybe he can help us.
But if you see the fin location of the Recticulated Swellshark they are closer to each other than the one on the boat.
So I really think it is the Proscyllium Magnificum.
I hope Peter will reply to me to know for sure.
 
It would be great if you could get a response from him. Im itching to find out here. :grinno:
 
Well Peter has contact me and confirmed that the shark on the image
is indeed the Proscyllium Magnificum.
Great thanks to Peter Last to take the time for us to confirm the images.
So great job Crumbs to look close to the details and give the suggestion that is was
indeed another shark.
So know we have a good picture of a living specimen of the Proscyllium Magnificum.
 
Nice work getting to the bottom of it dannyy:cheers: Peter must be happy to have the picture for his record too now.
 
To help keep it rolling we are looking at a temperate water Catshark from Japan.
