I3<fish, Im sorry but you are wrong.

Australian Marbled Catsharks (A. macleayi) have small black spots but no white spots. Coral Cats (A. marmoratus) have white and enlarged black spots. Your catshark picture clearly has white and black spots.

This is one of the most common id mixups that seems happens everywhere including your resource for the photo.

Looks like you are up Ken

Actually there is presently 4 known species(that I've heard of) of the Atelomycterus catsharks.

- A. marmoratus - the Coral Catshark

- A macleayi - the Australian Marbled Catshark

- A. baliensis - the Bali Catshark

- A. fasciatus - the Banded Catshark

With two newly described species A. Baliensis and A. fasciatus. Neither of which have white spots. lol

Since I'm up - here's a catshark to ID.

The Genus should be easy after the last one. So I want species & common name.

Southern Catshark????

Follow Kens clue about the genus Atelomycterus and it would be one of the following:

- A macleayi - the Australian Marbled Catshark

- A. baliensis - the Bali Catshark

- A. fasciatus - the Banded Catshark

Want to take another shot someone?
