Elderly Chinese Turtles Mate, but Don't Breed

I think this will be a no go in the long run. Even if the female stays fertile to breed with all 3 males, we will have the 2nd generation inbred, and only going down from there.

There are so many species that are inbred here in the US without any problems as of yet, mainly Australian species that are banned from export out of australia. So this should work for a bit specially with three males to give diversified genes, hopefully they can complement the breeding group by finding more individuals.

cant wait for the next clutch, it would be a shame to watch em go extinct because of a calcium deficiency.
 
I guess his shell isnt the only thing thats soft,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I mean ,sad stuff indeed.Really though it is sad.
