Electric Bill In California

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
most tropical fish will be fine in mid to high 70's but make sure you do the research on fish first you may be able to lower the temp a few degrees i dont really know how much of a difference this will make on your eletric bill

I'd like to shut off my XP3 to my 55g for a few hours but
sometimes its a B to prime & start up again.

Sometimes I plug in the airstone also.

I got koi, comets & a plec in there so they're pretty hardy

Electric Bill Update!
My bill is holding now at 160 a month! Should i lower the 240 temp a few degrees? Will that make a difference, seems the 300 watt heater is on all the time! Water is 80 degrees in all my tanks.

be better to insulated the tanks a little to lower the heat loss.......

good covers....non viewing sides could be insulated...less drafts....etc

just a thought

$58AUD for 6 months:WHOA: , serious not kidding that with my 220, 55 and 30 running. Along with the 5 tvs, 3 xboxs, 2 computers (1 on 24/7), 2 fridges (24/7), 2 freezers (24/7), the pool filter on 12hrs per day and other household stuff.

I love solar power, it rocks.

I turn off my heaters when the weather gets hot in socal, my bill comes out $300 a month. I try to saves as much as i can

thats why when i build my house im gonna spend the extra to get solar pannals on da roof, my mother and law did it and the electric company was paying here bc she made so much electicity. so it paid its self of in a year or so

Yeah the first 3 mths were credit $8 to us but the next 3 were over summer, my mum hates the heat and the ac ws running 24/7 so thats why it went up. Will get more credits soon. The more credits the more leanient my parents are about me get more tanks, I could just move out but its to cheap living at home.

1950sf. house on a heat pump. A 240,180, 2-125's, 2-75's, 55, 37, 20 gal. tanks at the moment. Last electric bill was $132.22 with about 1 week of it with outside temps. in the 20's and 30's at night. I guess I'm lucky. Electric rates seem to vary greatly in different parts of the US. My electric bill has been as low as $70 the past couple of years. It depends on the weather.

2700 sq ft house - 240 gallon, (2) 40 gallons, 72 gallon.
My electric bill is usually about $90 a month.

Some of you guys are getting seriously overcharged! :irked:
