I had two electric blue acaras back in the day in a 55 gallon. The minimum recommended tank size for them online is 30 gallons. I know how active they are and how much they love to swim around. I always felt like my 55 was too small for them. My dad has a 30 gallon right now with 3 rams, 6 Cory's and 9 rummy nose tetras. He's had this stock with out issue for Two years. He's old and retired. When we set the tank up he was super excited about it. He's lost interst. I'm thinking about adding an acara but I'm worried the tank is too small.
