electric blue acara tankmates

Larger schooling fish like deep-bodied tetras or danios would probably be okay. I keep mine with other medium sized peaceful cichlids like severums, geos, Aequidens, etc. They can be a little nippy (I've seen mine peck at the orange head geos) so don't keep them with anything too small or passive.

My 75 thread is in my signature.

I keep my EBA with a bunch of other cichlids, congo tetras, rainbows, bristle nose plecos, leopard ctnepoma, upper jaw bichirs, rope fish, and soon SAE. Oh, and plants, lots and lots of plants.

so you dont reccomend with red heads how about heckli

Mine is with heckli. Heck, mine is with pearl gouramis, I think though they can be nippy that if they are also with other fish that have the same kind of attitude that they will ignore more passive fish.

My guy though is smaller than my heckli's and everything else. Next smallest fish after him is a leopard ctnepoma that's still got some size to put on.

Mine haven't caused any real harm to the orangeheads, just nipping and chasing occasionally. It would probably help if the orangeheads were larger but they're about the same size as the acaras.

I also have a heckelii in the tank but he's about twice the size of the acaras and no one messes with him.

I had my six in a 150 gallon community tank but moved them back to a 55 by themselves for spawning.

I've got a community tank 100ltr with 2 m+f eba
they're 6 months old about 4-5cm
they're in with danios, molly's, tetras, corys, 10 juvenile gts and they're only temporary but they're remarkably peaceful, not bully, they'll do the odd chase but nothing like what my terrors do
my biggest baby gt had his nose out of joint as he was reigning big top dog of the CT
he isn't the biggest anymore but he thinks twice fronting my eba
the gts chase bully each other occasionally a quick 2 second chase with others
but they terrorise each other
was really surprised my ebas are so happy they took to the tank quicker than others have plus great temperament

Sorry I know this is a old thread but thought I'd post in case it helps anyone
