I have been on the hunt for good quality ebjd's and platinum for a few years with no luck, the blues that do show up at my lfs are terrible quality riddled with defects, I am located in Toronto,Canada which makes things twice as difficult but I am willing to order from the U.S. I have imported many centrals before from florida but have had no luck with the jacks, any help or a point in the right direction would be greatly apprecaited,thanks

Big Al's in Edmonton has tons of them and they all look good to me. I know that is far off, you should try Montreal. I used to work at Aqua Tropicale and Nature Pet Centre. Both chains carry a good selection of cichlids unlike out here lol other than EBJD I can probably name all the SA/CA cichlids the stores carry out here lol

Montreal is a heck of a trip, I don't think the car i'm driving at the moment can take me there,lol It's sad that centrals and south americans don't exist in Toronto since Aqua Tropics stopped bringing them in,sure you can get an oscar or a green terror or a convict but that's really about it, i'm hoping to get a lead on some places in the U.S that are willing to ship to Canada but so far no luck, I have never seen a platinum jack dempsey in Toronto and the most people have never even heard of them,very sad
No I don't believe they do, I have tried to contact them numerous times with no response,believe me I have done alot of searching, I have even contacted wholesalers from India and Australia but I would need an import license, not to mention i would need to order 50 to 100 at a time,I am personal collector and not a wholesaler myself so ordering 100 at a time just won't work for me,hoping someone from the states will see my ad and we can work something out,until then the search continues......
Nope, they have turned me down as well,continental U.S only, I contacted "tampafishman1" about a week or so ago,his blues looked pretty good from a video he had but hr doesn't ship to Canada
Have you ever tryed the big als in mississauga? Thats where i got mine. Hes turning into quite the beast. 
The quality of blues at big als are very poor,these fish were never meant to have that much black on them,I bred these guys for almost 10 years before I got out it, young blues should appear mostly white and then the white will turn into blue as they mature, I have seen these fish at big als covered in black,that's not how they are supposed to look, that is a sign of very poor quality, I call them electric blacks,lol My only regret is I didn't keep a few my blues when i got out of breeding, I have seen some posts from Australia and the U.S so I know quality blues still exist but not in Toronto
Very long back ( 5 yrs ago) I was so smitten with the EBJD that I was looking for extremely good quality EBJD.
That was when I ran into someone called Stephen Panas who at that time had a wonderful reputation for quality EBJD.
