how fast do they grow i have one hes about 3in i want him t ogrow a lil faster to catch up to my ather 2 fish das any one know how fast they grow ? thanks

Mine was 6" after 1 year and 7" at 1.5 years. Frequent water changes will help him grow better than feeding too much. Feed a variety of foods, I.E. pellets, krill, bloodworms, spirulina enriched brine shrimp, mysis. Feed bloodworms the least out of all of these. Your fish will probably reach 4-5" in 5-6 months. How big is your tank? What are your two other fish? Your electric blue may not do well if your tank is really small.
whats the rush bro....let him have fun dont overfeed just because you want them to grow fast,if you want fast growth put him an a 10gl. grow out tank..

growth will not catch up to oscars. the electric blues seem to have weaker genes, this is why they die so often and it also causes slower growth. if you were to put it with non EB siblings they would be outcompeted and most likely die.
i thought we were talking about dempseys then i saw we were in rift lake cichlids. i retract my statement.
my dream fish is an eb jack Dempsey but al the fish stores by me have them really small and for crazy prices i wish my oscars dident go grow so fast cuz now if i do want to get one he would have to be 5-7 in
ive had an electric blue for like 3 years now, hes not really growin to fast, he got punked up outta the cichlid tank, he's in his own tank now
