My 2 inches Electric Blue Dampsey swallowed an inch OttoCat yesterday... but the ottocat still stuck in its mouth after 24 hours. What should I do? I tried to pull it out, but it's impossible to pull..:(

If it can't swallow the oto, try harder to pull it out. Grab the JD, and carefully pull the catfish out of its mouth with the help of a pair of thin tweezers. Be sure to release the pectoral fin spines BEFORE pulling it out. If it doesn't work... PRAY. The most likely ending is death due to the dead catfish being stuck in its mouth, unfortunately.

Best regards.

Daniel.

try grabbing the jd , and cut up the dead oto.

I see nothing in my JD mouth now, but its mouth is still open.
so I try to feed it small pellets. mY JD seems hungry and try to eat it. but the pellets just fall out from gills... I am afraid it will starve to death...

I saw an oscar do the same thing with a cory cat. I pulled the cory out and the fish's mouth stayed open for a day or 2 but it recovered 100% just give it time. most fish can go a couple of weeks or more before starving to death.

I think the only thing I can do now is just to wait...

grab him and close his mouth for him. He could have popped his jaw out of it's socket because of the other fish moving around etc.
be gental and close it for him, even if it doesn't "pop into place" his own muscles will eventually tighten enough to bring it back to place.

be very gental.
