Is the electric blue jack dempsey more agreesive then the original jack dempsey.I saw one at a lfs for 50 dollers, with some huge front teeth, and it was attacking the glass.Looks like a pretty fish,i wouleve bought it if i had room.

Not that I've ever seen. Jack's aren't generally that aggressive to begin with. But of course, this will depend, as always, on the individual fish's personality.

Yeah it depends on each fish's personality, but all the Blues that I've had seem to be just as aggressive as the regular jack dempsey. You just have to have really clean water.

like said it depends on the fishes personality like all cichlids but usually they tend to be just as or less aggressive

From what I've read, heard and seen, I believe they are little less aggressive then regular jack's. Not by much though. They don't get as big as a regular Jack either. Mine is a big baby. The only time I saw him get aggressive is when I put in the carpintis. Prob cuz there patterns looked familiar...He was jealous he wasn't the only purty one in the tank anymore. My opinion is get one. They're awesome fish! Here's mine on the left. This is the only pic i Have with him in it. He's about 6" (4 years old)

Before i had bluejack dempseys, people told me to watch out for their agression. I keep them in with rainbows, barbs, even glass fish, and have not witnessed this aggression. I find it hard to beleive that they are related to regular jack because they are so docile. I always make sure that my bluejack male is much much larger than the regular jack female , so he does not get beat up. As far as temperment i think they are closer to communtiy fish. Infact, when i got my first bj i put him in with smaller africans..... not a good idea with these sweethearts~!
I have over 50 Male Bluejack dempseys. My 125 gal has about 21 male bluejack dempseys, ranging in size from 6-7 inches, and i have one 4.5 inch bluejack female in there with them. They get along very well together.
