I have 3 ebj...one is very aggressive....one not as aggressive but will not back down .....other one will not fight ....so there just like other cichlids ....

It really depends on the EBJDs individual personality. I have mine with a datnoid, convicts, and baby clown knives. he's happier than ever, and doesn't bother anyone. :) And he's growing like a weed!! He is one of my favorite fish.

i think he would be just fine if you take out the salvini and the convicts

jd's and severums have alwayse did good together in my tanks

I have a 3" ebjd that's I got when he was 1" and I kept him in his own 20 gal tank to grow out. I did 3 wc a week on him and fed him twice a day. I highly recomend that ebjd be let to grow up a bit before added to a community. You can make sure they are eatting well and growing. It's easy to keep the water clean so they don't come down with anything because the young ones are weak.

Severums are good tank mates unless you have a really nasty one. My Ebjd is the boss of my laid back green severum. Blue acaras are also ok tankmates but mine have had a little fight once but no one got hurt. Geos are good tank mates too.

The Texas, red jewels, salvini and convicts could cause lots of stress on your ebjd these are not good tank mates for most of these fish. My ebjd is laid back does not like to fight and I don't think mine could live with those aggressive fish. If you want the ebjd keep the pleco severum that's it. You could add a tbar cichlid or geos. But most the fish you have are not a good mix at all.

Sounds like too chaotic a tank to add anything to.EBJD take a bit of care when younger.

I have one with two oscars and a pleco. He's definitely more tame than the oscars, but he'll stick up for him self when they bully him around. Otherwise he just chills out near the bottom and only fights the pleco once in a while for hiding spots under drift wood.

I've never had any issues with him, mind you I've only had him for 14 months or so.

good looking fellow . . . be aware that as they mature, they also go through a varity of color changes; mine went from looking like yours at about 1" to near-black, and then to a dark blue . . . now, at about 1 year old, he is 3" long and almost 100% electric-blue, with minimal dark marking . . .
