So I heard a lot of stories about these wonderful fish and had to see for myself what all the talk was about. I started out with 4 fish about three months ago. I purchased them at 1 inch for a little over $10 dollars each. Since then I have gone through everything from fungus to parasites. I lost two and nursed the other two back to good health. I have also made several changes to my tank, including changing tank mates and substrates. Needless to say I have spent quite a few unexpected dollars in the past three month in order to keep these fish happy and in good health. I guess if I have any advice to give, I would say first do your research on these fish, going at it blindly can cause you a lot heartache and cost a lot of greenbacks if you do not know what you are getting into. Second try to avoid purchasing specimens under two inches. Smaller fish tend to be more susceptible to illness. Other than that, all is well and the two I do have seem to be doing great (hope I didn't just jinx myself). Lastly, don't be too proud to take advice (with a grain of salt) from other people who have had success raising these fish, there advice can be invaluable. NOW LEMME HEAR YOUR EBJD STORIES!!

I have two EBJDs at about two inches each in a 65 gallon tank, so I really would not want to clean out +50% of my water every three days. i'd run the risk of losing all the beneficial bacteria in the water I think. But just because that would not work for me doesnt mean it will not work for you or someone else. Thanks for the input. by the way.... What size tank do you have and how many fish?
