WOW, they are nice! They don't fight? I put my two together at the same size and they instantly fought. Maybe they needed to be family. lol. Very nice!

I think the consensus opinion is that EBJDs are not "man made" - - which implies hybrid - - but rather are a recessive form of a standard Jack Dempsey.

that being said, they probably wouldn't exist w/o human intervention, since the EBJD fry would not survive competition from their larger, healthier JD siblings. and yes, they are definitely inbred and typically more fragile than standard JD

Well said homie?:headbang2

Well there still very small. I think the older they get the more territorial they'll become, eventually butting heads every once and a while.:swear:

no i wouldnt say i power feed, but i give them tetra pro colour, tetra pro vegetable, pacific krill, bloodworms, tubiflex and spurulina theyre good feeders but one especially seems to be growing freakishly fast!

Ive spent about $200 dollars trying to raise these fish and finally have one that hasn't had any complications so far bought him at about an inch around 7 months ago hes almost 2.5" now slow grower is an understatement he likes it around 80degrees and is unusually aggressive for an electric blue tried to keep him with a few aztec fry about half his size he killed them along with some rams I tried to keep him with the only thing he hasnt killed yet is the rhino pleco

i must have been very lucky with mine, i paid £20 which i think is about $40 each but ive had absolutely no problems at all and theyre in with big severums!they are really eager eaters and havent been aggressive at all although when i put a pair of rams in they didnt seem to like them so i gave the rams to my dad!
