My largest one right now is actually 4" lol, extremely healthy fish. Their not going anywhere anytime soon lol. They do grow relatively slow tho. gator your 7" specimen is great. But i don't feed hardly any of my fish flakes as they don't hardly get any protein out of them. I only give my Africans flakes every week and a half to two weeks.

What i feed my EBJDs
Frozen: bloodworms, mysis shrimp, beefheart, brine shrimp, and small pieces of krill.
Live: small pieces of red wiggler worms (trout worms)

I feed them twice a day. I feed everything once a week except for bloodworms, feed those on mon and tues

Thank you. I think him and my male BGJD are my favorite 2 fish in that tank.

What I meant with veggie flakes is when they're small. They need veggies in their diet. I feed mine shelled frozen peas once a week.

interesting. Ill look into that. Not sure if mine will even eat that (they love the fozen stuff i feed, especially the bloodworms and worm bits. They'll start pacing the top of the tank about that time in the morning and evening lol.) but it might be good to add one more thing. so thanks for the idea.

I got mine at about 1.5" lol Ill try to send some pics tomorrow. Not sure how to do that yet.

Just make sure you take the skin off the peas. Peas are pretty much like ex lax to fish, so it's great for the digestive track. Mine LOVES them. He also loves NLS food, which that with peas and freeze dried/frozen treats are a bonus for me. He's not picky when it comes to food. I always feed mine the peas 2 nights before a water change and fast them until the water change.

wow those are some beautiful jacks. im def going to pick up a couple. i want to get atleast 4 just incase some die. if all survive i will sell 1 or 2
