Hong long have you had it with them? They aren't as hardy as regular Dempsey's. I can't believe it's still alive.because Blue Dempsey's stress really easy.
Blue Dempsey's are born from regular dempsey parents, but one of the parents has a ressive gene.

Yeah, a blue dempsey won't last long with dovii or managuense around, assuming you have a tank suitable for average home use and not a 2,000g pond... Better to keep them with Geos, Archocentrus, Thorichthys, etc.

And yes, the blue dempsey is the same species as the "regular" dempsey, just a color "morph" caused by a recessive gene as DaisyDarko has already pointed out.

they been together for about 2 weeks now at first the dovii was a bully but seems all right now there in a 120 breeder (4',2',2') for you guys that don't no

Dovii.....pain in the butt!!! I'd take the Dempsy before the Dovii anyday just because every Dovii I've seen and the one I owned was completely intolerable of tankmates (especially colorful ones) and was impossible to get to chill out.

When I got him he was about 1", and in 2-3 weeks, he's already doubled in size.

I'm glad other people have Elec. Blue Jacks on this site, we should start a club! lol

nice demps mine loocks almost the same he's a pig too he eats almost as much as my dovii and my dovii has a good two inches on him(dovii 3" blue jack 1")
