That's one sad looking EBJD hope he picks up soon.

My EBJD has lived ok with Geophagus Tapajos, Severum and Festivum. He's currently living with a jag but i would not advice that, my jag is fairly chilled and will be moved to another tank as soon as he get aggressive.

First.............add some Stess Coat, so you don't lose him/her.
Next............. don't add any other fish until the fish recovers.

Entirely agree.

I actually am planning this exact setup! I have a 125 that will have a super red severum, an EBJD, four festivum and 6 geo red heads. :)

ive never had luck keeping these guys for very long. they are a weak species because they are mutated. ive only been able to keep em till 2 inches then they die off. a lot of people who i have talked to about them have had the same problem. but i did research and found out if you talk to the right breeder and get one that isn't inbred then you have a better chance of survival. i gave up on them. but i would definatly not put any fish in at all unless you want the thing dead.

Rightly said !!

Got mine when we was about 2 inches, he's now pushing 5 - 5.5 inches. I grow him out in a smaller tank first, because i heard a lot of people say there weak and die easy.

Went too the LFS for the stress
Coat they said I should use melafix? What are people's opinions on this

Stress coat helps to replace slime coat very well, which helps speed along healing. Melafix is great for helping heal up scraps and cuts. Personally, if it is just some torn up fins, I recommend the stress coat. Melafix is for more serious injuries IMO.
