Electric Blue JD

Anyone have any experience with the Elect. Blue Variation of JD? I have one that is doing extremely well, but seems to be growing very slowly. Do they tend to be smaller or just grow slowly? Thanks in advance.

Yeah they will grow slow, like normal JD's too.the best thing you can to is keep it healthy, it will grow.
what size is it?

It is about 3". I got it about 1.5 to 2". It is doing great so far.

When i got my jd a month ago it was 2 inches now it is pushin on 5 so nto all jds grow slow you may see a burst of growth in him how long ahve u had him he has grown maybe u just enevr gave hima chance hehe

if you want them to grow as fast as possible, you have to change your water often as well as feed them well.

Can't just feed without a consistent w/c schedule. That should help a bunch if you're not doing it already..not sure so thought I'd put it out there.

Good luck with him. Lots of people here say they're tough to keep alive until they hit 4-5 inches. For some reason they seem to be frail as juvies

I change water about every 10-14 days. I will try upping that schedule and see if that helps. I have had him about 6 months and he just isn't growing. The front I got at the same time has almost tripled in size in the same tank. I will try to get a pic and put it up.

first of all, africans and americans don't mix. second, 1 water change a week should be your minimum. one every two weeks just doesn't cut it.
