sorry they grow pretty slow like normal jack dempseys
you can't beat that color but these fish all ways look like crap as far as shape and fins go not sure if i'd ever buy one mabye if i could find one that didn't look deformed

Also, most Africans cichlid species that live outside of the rift lakes can do very well with Central and South American cichlids. Paratilapia polleni, for example, is commonly kept in new world cichlid community tanks. Finally, depending on stocking levels and tank size, one water change every two weeks can be enough. Since he isn't asking why his fish are all sick, I am he has a relatively large, understocked tank, especially since electric blue jack dempseys tend to be very fragile.
They do grow to a smaller size as well as growing slower, with regards to deformities etc they certainly do have a different body shape to regular JDs, though I have seen lots that look amazing
