Electric Blue Rams With Ich!!!

I just picked up some new electric blue rams from my lfs. They had ich in the tank and i mentioned it to the lady so she gave me a pretty good deal on 4 blue rams and a bushynose pleco. The thing is the rams have ich and i have to nurse them pack to health. My PH is around 6.8 or maybe a little lower. My temp is 85 is there anything else i can do to get rid of this ich all the way. Also was it a dumb idea for me to try and nurse these back to help lol

any help would be great,

Yupper, add salt and crank up the heat. At 86 degrees ich cannot complete its life cycle. At 90 degrees it dies altogether. I've treated tanks for ich using the heat and salt method, I've also treated using malachite green. I recommend going the non-chemical route whenever possible. Not only is it much easier on your fish, it keeps your tank seals and airlines from being permanently stained. Good luck!
 
yeah like others said do the salt and heat and they should be good in no time, these guys are pretty sensitive though so make sure you keep your water super clean and even when the ich is gone i would keep the tank at 85 for them
 
so i had 4 rams 2 males and 2 females one of the males suddenly dissapeared i checked the overflow the floor the sump everything and i cant find him anyone have any ideas where he could be??????

They didn't leave a note? In all seriousness, how would we know where they went? It's your tank. Do you have tankmates in with them that could eat or kill them? Are there hiding places where they could be tucked away?

Rams do tend to be sensitive and it sounds like they were already in rough shape. Are you sure they didn't die and get stuck somewhere in the tank?

If they pull through this, please realize that rams need clean and fairly warm water to thrive. Keep up with your water changes and don't let your temperature drop too far below 85F. That will also prevent future ich outbreaks.
 
I got rid of ich in my take within several days. I raised my temps to about 86 and added a butt load of aquarium salt. I also did more frequent water changes and now my tank is ich free and all of my fish survived.

**make sure you oxygenate the tank well because there is less O2 in the water at higher temps
