Hard no, but keep in mind these guys will get over 3'. The biggest thing with an Ecat and any other fish is to give it nice clean water. They will adapt to different water conditions. They are various eaters and can make a mess of your water if not filtered properly and water changed on regular.

Thats a very cute little fella. Just a tip. If you hold the worms at the top of the water for it to eat it will help calm down the fish. In others it will get to be more personable and less skittish if it isn't already.
