Hello all. I am a new owner of an electric catfish and i just want to know some owner info, because all the info i have seen r scientific and rare owner info. My catfish is only about 3-4 inches and currently is eating abunch of tiny black worms, i have nightcrawlers but they seem to big for him atm. I have him in a tank with neons, was 10 but only 7 now, there is also 1 gouramis and 1 rainbow shark, I know i am currently looking for a tank to seperate them. One thing i am worred about is how much to feed him cause he always looks hungry. I give him two pinch fulls of worms thats maybe about 20-30 worms that r about 1/2-1 inch long, how do i get him to eat pellets and feeder fish, cause beside the 3neons missing he seems scared of the other fish, he only comes out for food and circles his coconut hiding spot then back in, i do catch him out late at night when the lights r out, and lately he seems to keep his head poked out of his house maybe he is getting use to seeing me.

goodluck with your electric catfish because i had one inside my flowerhorn tank thinking "o its electric, itll be fine" but it became fish food :(. those things hide all day and come out at night

was it a baby, cause i know mine is and it doesnt shock anything yet. my friend has one that is about 14 inch and it shocks his red devil and other fish once a year.

One baby no can produce much electricity, the shock in small in babys, and you catfish growing, the most comercial species can grow 2´ or more, and his shock have a limit of time, are most powerfull with more mass of fish, its simple the big fish heating the small fish, you no can put on baby more small than the othes fishes, until the black bass can eat baby aligators.:nilly:

Hey guys i got a jack demphsey that is laying on its side it is still breathing but it cannot swim. Its fins move but it cannot straighten itself up. its been like this for a couple hrs now i was wondering if this could be effects from the catfish shocking it. I believe the jack is small like 2 inch but to big for the catfish to swallow hole. Anythoughts. will this fish get better?
