They're definitely cool fish. Nice E cat. Like little living sausages.

Awesome e-cat!! I got mine at 2" and in three months it was almost 10"!!! They can seriously put on some size fast!!! Love them, as long as you keep them by themselves....:(. They can most definately be fish killers. Had mine for three months, never got zapped by it once...even when netting it. I played a trick on my friend though, told him it was the softest fish he would ever feel...hahahahahaha. OH MAN THAT WAS FUNNY!!

haha out of curiosity i try to touch it, it's electricity is not quite strong it's tolerable. well, i guess because my electric cats is still quite small. :D

Very nice, missing mine dearly but soon I'll have a ecat setup again in the next 6 months or so hopefully. You can keep synodontis specie catfish with them, they are immune to the shock and I kept 3 syno multipunctatus and 2 syno flavitaeniatus with my 10" e cat with no problems. Earthworms are what I fed mine most of the time and they are pretty nutritious I think but beefheart and blood worms would work great as well.

I think they can control how hard they shock, it hurts them when they do so it might have not been shocking as hard as it could, just enough for them to get the point that they didn't like being touched or almost touched. I know that my friend wanted to see what it was like and put his hand in the tank the first couple times he got a small shock that was enough to make him flinch at first but when he got used to it not bad but then finally my ecat got pissed off and shocked him hard enough for him to yell out some profanity and rip his hand out of the tank almost knocking my lid off, not gonna lie, it was hillarious. Good luck and keep us updated with pics ~Trent
