I didnt keep mine long(it got boring fast) but it's def an oddball. I got one at 30" and kept it in my 150. They dont do much during the day, but get some moonlights and stay up late and you've got a show. Be careful. when i was bagging mine up to take it to the Zoo, my rubber gloves had a tiny hole it them and i got the shock of my life. my entire arm went numb along with a good part of my sholder and back. For maintenance, you can stick the handle of a regular aquarium net in a 4' piece of PVC pipe to make a long safe dip net. Make sure you plug everything into a powerstrip with a GFI just incase something shorts out. they will bite your equipment out of curiosity. make sure there is nothing like a suction clip or other plastic pieces he can swallo and get you a shatterproof heater. Goodluck
