I really want to get one but having trouble justifying one of my biggest tanks for one fish that will be hiding all of the time. I was also thinking about trying something like a silver dollar. Something must be able to survive with them.

The one I got is a little larger than a foot. Just sits in the darkest corner and moves up the side every once in a while. haven't seen him eat but the food doesn't stick around overnight (market shrimp/frozen tilapia/haddock)

They are kinda like the Aba Aba from Africa. The bigger they get ,the bolder they are. They realize that now that they are bigger, nothing is going to get them or eat them and they get bolder.
