Electric Green Barbs

Is that an actual common carp?
Yup! I caught this little guy during on my internship. It was supposed to be in a preserved jar with other carps but I ended up took him home. It's growing up really fast!

They are usually in with the feeders. My Petsmart always has a mixture. I had one that was silver but it then went to bronze and now bright orange.

I caught this little guy by the electric-fishing.

I really like those Electric Green Barbs. the dash of red gives them a much nicer look. SO wish that I could get some- but Nooo! one more reason to hate California's stinking mindset.
I would set up a little glo tank if they were legal.

Cool, what kind of rig? Like was it a backpack or boat mounted?

Now I'm tempted to see if I can find wild type goldies.
Backpack. I captured YOY feral goldfish last summer during IBI survey...of course they are already in preserved jars sent to the labs :(

Tried kept YOY buffalofish but they don't survive the trip from work to home. It appeared that they are not so hardy as the common carps.

That's why I wanted them because I like the dash of red on them.... IMO they looks way better than other glofish (danios, cichlids, tetras)

I am JEALOUS. green with envy.

Depending on the voltage, sometimes they will be as good as dead but have enough adrenaline to still swim. I noticed a few species of minnows were like that when we were sampling some rivers down here...of course we were using various sizes of boat mounted rigs. Strange to hear that about the buffalo.

Also, it is worth buying some of the Kordon breather bags. On my last trip I had 3 small catfish and over a dozen glass shrimp in one and a needle nose gar in another. The cat/shrimp bag went over 24 hours and the gar went about 20 with no fatalities. I just threw them on the top layer of my food ice chest (no ice, just cold drinks) and arranged things so they wouldn't roll around too bad or get squished.
