I just finished setting up my 55 gallon Electric yellow cichlid tank. I have DIY RUGF system, and aragonite on the bottom. My question is. I would like to pick a good bottom feeder for tank. But im not sure what will stay small enough and will also like 8.5ish PH

Please advise :)

You could try a synodontis type of cat since they are an african catfish and would share the water needs of an african cichlid.

Syno. Petricola.......Nice looking, and at only 4" full grown, I think this would fit nicely..I have 5 of them in my 225 Malawi tank.....There is a breeder in Ashtabula, who breeds these and sells them for about $10-$15 each, and charges actual shipping price.

Any synodontis species is a good choice. My personal favorites are Syn. Multipunctus and Syn. Petricola. They stay small, but arnt always available at your LFS. Syn. Eupterus and Syn. Ocellifer are more common, but get about 8" in the long run.
