i had recently bought a 4 inch electric yellow cichlid looks to be healthy but had an odd problem he wont take any food and also goes to the back right top corner of the tank and just faces upward towards the top of the water any ideas would be appreciated

give him time. My do that from time to time. Generally when they get frightened. IMO it is normal. Give him time to settle in.
ok cool just odd i just made the switch from american to african cichlids just generally giving same care we will see how it works
i know exactly how u feel iu bought some red ceibal and they did the same thing i was like already thew will get used to their new habitatpretty quick within a few days

found out what was the problem i had a johanni in the tank with the electric yellow and turns out he was just beatin the **** out of him so introduced a larg ass vieja and the johanni killed him the first night so the johanni went and within 5 hours the yellow lab comes down off the top and swims in the bottom and regenerates full color
