Anyone actually figure out the electrical cost of running a big filter, lights, etc... I have a 2400gph pump going 24 hours a day, 2 air conditioners and a pool filter at my house. I am going broke this month! (its 101 degrees today). I am considering the additional cost of my second tank with the simple "hang over the side" style filter too. Ugh

I haven't broken it down by tank. Maybe I will when I stop buying additions. I spend about $160/month on electricity and water to run 100+ tanks. To get the utilities down this low took:

-replacing all windows with double-insulated lowE vinyl windows
-adding 12" of insulation in the attic
-replacing the doors with insulated doors and a ton of insulating trim/edging.
-drilling the walls, between every stud, and injecting expansion foam to insulate the walls.
-after painting, silicone sealed every wall joint and corner to prevent heat escape. (still ongoing)
