have you thought about aquaponics? we tried that in our garage tank and it works. at first in our 55g i just had a HOB filter and there was a lot of algae because it was outside. Then we put a small strawberry plant with an air stone underneath it. after about a week the whole tank cleared up. once the plant becomes bigger i will take off the filter and see what happens. maybe you can save electricity by cutting down the time your filters run or not having it at all.

You may cut the FX5 and xp3 and try the fluidized bed filters with small pumps.
