Hey guys so I just heard about this species (Elongatus Pirahna,) and was wondering if I could achieve some information from the greatest source to ever exist, (the Internet) so any of you know anything?

They seem to be one of the more aggressive species.....max length tends to be around for 10 inches in captivity.....75 gallon will work for life.....make sure u have tight lids......strong flow....

This so happens to be my favorite piranha, and trust me I had damn near all of them even the Pingke variant with the red throat. I believe it should be housed in a 6 ft tank, this fish was built for speed and swims around the most, it is very fast and aggressive once its been acclimated for a couple weeks. you can keep him in a 75 , but I wouldn't. also they love current. you used to be able to find them for sale all the time but i haven't seen them in a month or two on anybodies list

You don't need a 125 if you have enough flow they tend to grow at a decent rate to 6-7 inches then take forever to get to 9 and above 9 or 10 is very rare

Some even get more psychotic with a 6 foot tank to roam with ......it all depends on the fish .......but personally I wouldn't waste getting a 125 with starting with an elong

all I have is big tanks and they are shaped like that for a reason, they are built for speed , so that why I always put them in a 6t tank but people can do what they want I guess. all I own is 125 gal's and up so im speaking from that stand point and how the fish is built and why it is built that way

Great observations, and it's very smart of you to simulate the animals natural habitat.

when I get my next Elong he will be placed in either a 125gal or a 180gal either or. I have seen this fish move at atf speeds through current to get food. Fish is true sprinter
