Very funny and lively critters.
, they are sideneck turtles and so from the infraorder Pleurodirus(hopping Im spelling rigth) and Chelids (the same familiy of matas, snake necks, Emyduras, etc). They actualy are quite far from snappers(wich are hidden neck turtles Cryptodires and as such much more closely related to mud turtles, tortoises, sea turtles, soft shell turtles,sliders,etcwww.couraipidia.org or www.wikicoura.org:ROFL::ROFL::DMiguel;2351397; said:You are allways on the know, Coura! Dont say defeat yet MiguelMiguel;2351907; said:None. She is doing fine, eating, swimming and frollicking around, but no eggs, yet....( perhaps it did not work, the coupling )
Sometimes female turts mate and then a long time passes before they actualy conseive. Turtles are solitary animals in the wild they dont know when they are going to find a animal of the oposite sex. If they arent gravid female turts can virtualy mate at any time even out of the mating seazon, what happens in this case is that the male sperm gets stored in the oviduct wall untill the next bach of eggs is ready to be fertilized. That´s how sometimes turts lay fertile eggs without aparently having matted
If it haches it would be my first with this species
