I was at the LFS yesterday and saw this pitiful looking Silver Aro. I thought to myself that fish is never going to make it. So you know how we do, I kept walking back to the little tanklet it was in and after about a half hour of arguing with myself about the thousand reasons why I should just walk away I talked to the owner asked him what he paid for the fish, gave him 15$ and said I'll save you the trouble of having to throw it out in a week. So lets see what we can do with this fish. It's about 4" long and skinny as a rail. I put it in a 75 gallon tank upped the heat to 84F and got it to eat a carni-stick this morning (at least somebody's eating them ;)). The pictures aren't very good it's very skittish but does come out to swim around. I'll use this thread to track it's progress and we can see how it turns out.

I love Aros.. Hope the best of look to you. Just a quick question as i am new to this forum, how do i create a new thread or post something?

Nice job Tom. If he is eating you will have another monster on your hands soon! good luck

Thanks, agreed eating is a good sign. I don't this it has ip's but I'm watching closely, I just think it was neglected. You could use a silver in you're collection........maybe once it's fattened up and healthy.

Nice hopefully you can nurse it back to health getting it to eat pellets is a great sign

The bulge In its stomach was from one carni stick, that's how thin it is. I'll wage afew hours and offer it another, I have to be carful with its food intake so I don't kill it by feeding more than its digestive system can handle right now.
