Here is a more up to date picture of the algae in the 75.

Things have been moved around and I’ve harvested 1/4-1/3 of the algae in this tank and moved it to two others.
I just placed it on the wood and so far it’s done pretty well at staying on it. There is a little on the filter intake. I’ll be covering that with a sponge.

And my fry tank. I mainly put some in here to give them somewhere to rest and stuff to munch on. Please forgive the weird side lighting from my phone. Haha the light burnt out on the lid and I haven’t replaced it.

And a couple pictures that show the algae more closely.

In this one you can see it has finally started to grow on the wood on its own. I didn’t think it would.

Willing to sell any portion of that algae?

I’m open to it. My only hesitation is my local weather. I’m in MN and we are now below freezing every night and most days. I don’t know how well this will bounce back from a possible freeze in the mail. I guess I could sacrifice a small bit by letting it freeze outside overnight and then bring it back in and see if it comes out ok. I’d hate to sell anything that might end up a total loss for someone.
It’s why I haven’t ordered any new plants for my tanks. Last year I lost all the plants mailed to me and 9 out of 13 snails. They were all frozen solid when they arrived:(

I can always wait until spring and buy it then. I've been keeping for 31yrs. I'll likely still be in it by then lol. Ive always got need for easy keeping plants.

I have a friend who lives in MN. She says the snow drifts often entirely block her front door. I dont know how y'all can live up there. I hate it when we get enough snow to make a foot print! Let a half an inch fall here and they shut the state down lol. You Northern folks are hardy people!

Haha, same here. Hardy plants are the best and really the only ones I can keep alive in an aquarium.

The snow drifts here are no joke. Roads get shut down because of them. I hate snow and cold, but I’ve lived here all my life. Someday we’ll move. Lol
Here are some pictures from last year.
I took this in the mid afternoon if I remember correctly.

And this is the next day.
For reference my husband is 6’1”.

That drift is where our driveway is. So we were blocked in. We get drifts in this spot every year because of the open field. We tried to set up a snow fence but the winds rip it up before the snow flys. So I’ve given up. Lol

God I love the south. Worst snow storms we get a cold snap will dump at most about a foot of snow but it all melts away after a few days. Your hubby gets no envy from this end lol

Haha!
We talk about moving south all the time. You guys are so lucky! I’d be happy to only have snow for a couple days and then be done with it. Lol

Come to South Africa and there is basically no snow! T's, C's and a few exceptions apply

I have some algea also, from my algea scrubbers. I live in southern Iowa so shipping might be easier.

I have long strand turf. Green
Short strands, green
Terrestrial amphibious moss.
Red beard,
Black beard.

Packed full of copods , snails and other micro monsters. No ich, however.

Not for sale. Just shipping, mostly interested on how it grows in other conditions.

But y'all do have malaria...I will take snow over risk of tropical illnesses lol. Then again plenty of people would call us nuts for living in huricane effected areas. I guess it all boils down to "where are you willing to risk it". Coz no matter where you are, you're dodging some kind of bullet lol
