Emergency Bite!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
just wondering, i think siebertn is right. pulling it out if it went head first would cause the dorsal to flare catching tissue on the way out. perhaps maybe the tem will spit him out. only time will tell. by the look of things he's not liking it which tells me that there is no room for error so i wouldn't try it.

if it was head first do not pull it out cause as you pull on the tail that is going t make the convicts dorsal erect up and its spines will stab into the T's mouth and could damage it pretty badly and or kill it ........ I know it is stressfull but got to try and stay calm

you beat me to it:screwy:

I just took the fish out. The cichlid was going through the temensis's gill. It wouldn't have gone down. Crap! I think I'm going to lose another Tem.

howed you pull it out? through the gill? and sorry if you lose him.

outta curiosity, did the fish he eat make it?

I pulled it back out the mouth. It was still alive and trying to get out the gill. It was very hard just slippery. The tem doesn't look very good. Even though I don't think I did any physical damage to him. He's breathing but just sitting on the bottom.

Thank's for the help guys. The tem that I helped is on the bottom of the tank but he's breathing and his colors look pretty close to the one above him. The second picture is another of the little craps heads that he was trying to eat.

i think if it wasn't bleeding and showed no physical damage then it should make it, turn the lights off and if possible cover the tank, less movement should calm him down.

turn the lights off make as little noise as possible and if you can up the areation in the tank just get plenty of air going through the fish he is probably stressed out from the ordeal and was probably not able to breath right with the con stuck in his throat ... it s just a thought I really hope he pulls through for you
