EMERGENCY, I may have a massive problem and I need advice in the worst way.

Well the 2 wet spots look to be completly gone with the fans blowing on them which seems to suggest to me that it was seepage, if I had a crack with a constant water leak, I dont think the fans would be able to completly dry it out. I could be wrong but it sorta makes sense, also, another guy at aquaria central had this to say which also makes sense:
uh, a crack in the BOTTOM of the tank is unlikely. that glass is tempered 99% of the time, and thus would shatter, not crack. and if the bottom of the tank was shattered, you would definitely know

Maybe it is not cracked.
But don't you want to know for sure?
And you should drain it anyway to put foam under it before it does crack.
I also was thinking to drill from the bottom to see how much water comes out.
If it's about 100 gal you might have a problem.
But it does not matter if you should drain, move and foam it anyway.
Yes move the sand to see if you need to panic. But even if you don't see a crack it might be cracked in another location.
If it was a complex fully planted tank with allot of delicate fish and no place to put them I might wait and see if it dries. A little overflow won't wreck the stand.
But yours would not be too hard to check. Before it all comes out on it's own.
I don't trust glass.
We should make these things out of transparent aluminum.
Like on Star Trek.

So turn off the fans and see if it gets wet again.
BS about bottoms not cracking.

Ummm, well when my tank cracked...it was the bottom of the tank that cracked, it cracked completely across the bottom, so it may be "unlikely" but it DOES happen. Had another tank crack at the bottom also, just wasn't all the way across, and I didn't realize is until my floor was completely soaked so, obviously you do what you want, but I've had it happen twice and like already said turn the fans off and see, hopefully it is seepage. :)

Well all looks to be ok so far, wet spot has dried up and stayed dry since the morning after I posted this topic. I guess the crack could have been anything, could have been the warped wood settling, while a long shot, it could have been the cannister filter too. Remember all that water that got in, well it also got in the cabinet too, all over the electric stuff, I unplugged it and tried to remove the power strip and it was HOT, it was so hot I couldnt even touch it as was the giant puddle of water it was sitting in. Picked it up with an oven mit, dried everything out, and put in new powerstrips. When I restarted the cannister, it made a couple weird cracking like noises too, noises Ive never heard it make before, maybe it a little jacked up with the electricity going crazy under there. Running fine again now, but there is no telling where exactly the cracking sound came from but its still dry last I checked so I appear to be in the clear so far:) Thanx to everyone here for the support!

hope everything works out we'll for you not sure if you've said the age of the stand before but if its new it may just be getting use to the weight of the tank my home made stand which is different but it cracked and poped all the time for a month or two befoer getting use to the weight

Best of luck to a fellow Colorado member
