ok, so after 6 months of bonding these festae they laid eggs last night, now she is being a festae mom and being snappy with him, she must have scrapped her eye or something and now in a matter of five minutes it has bulged. A LOT. I dont know what to do given the fact that they have eggs and if i treat the tank ill kill the eggs, if i pull the eggs ill break the pair bond, if i remove the female to treat her, the eggs will die. What do i do please help.

Melafix asap. All natural, and if they spawned they'll do it again. Better to save the eye and the pair bond imo, salt and a heat increase too. Good luck but it's all about minimizing loss at this point :(.
 
ok thanks fir the quick response, do you think it is just a bacterial infection from a scrape or something? also what should i put the heat at it is already at 82
 
If it's one eye she has more than likely caught it scraping with the male, should get better by its self. I would just leave em to it, maybe divide the male off to prevent further damage. I personally would remove the eggs if it gets worse or looks to be getting infected and treat with maracyn 1 and 2. Otherwise use salt and keep your nitrates as low as possible.
 
I would keep an eye on things no pun intended but if needed treat it. If it's fertilized you can pull it out but it's easier until they are free swimming. My pair had eggs first time ate them. Now they're breeding once again and I won't rush them or take them out I'll let them get it right
 
ya it seems to be getting ever so slightly better, but still there for sure, my nitrates r low and im just gonna watch it, she is acting just dandy though lol. at first i thought it was popeye but then after thinking about it, i dont think that it could be, like literally it went from 0-60 in 5 min and if it was popeye i think i wouldve noticed it b4 so i think it must have just gotten injured
