EMERGENCY PLEASE HELP

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You must get the maggots out. Try experimenting with pulling them off, or pour the alcohol on them.
I do not fw maggots. The fact that I’m still tryna help him after I found out them means a lot, I’ve thrown a couple times now cause it them lol. I’m thinking of using a garden hose with a trigger on it to spray them off of him but im scared I’ll use too much pressure and do more damage than good

I would definitely put him on something other than sand. Maybe paper towels. You sure that's not sand in the bucket?
Most probable outcome without professional help is long slow death. I'm not sure what the best way to euthanize a box turtle is. You must get help.

We got a hurt tortoise years ago. $500 vet bill (only because my ex was a licensed vet tech) and her and my knowledge of reptiles saved it. Had to have a "cast" made for damaged shell to be repaired. Even after it wasn't right.
Depending on where the damage is organs could be damaged.

I think your right about the hose and that it will be too much. I think everyone has the same hate for maggots, but perhaps try a tweezer?
I don’t think I have any small enough to get into the cracks without causing more damage. I’m definitely not the guy for this job but there’s no else around to do it I guess lol

I honestly think euthanizing him would be best but I’m not sure how either.

A turtles with that bad of an injury to the shell is like a human with a broken neck/spine. I think euthanasia is the best you can do.

Co2 would probably be one of the most humane ways.
