Hope you don't drink your tap water w/ no chlorine your gonna look like your fish and your tank will always be green - as in stagnate. This ofcourse is sarcasim.

As you were told earlier - treat the tapwater for chlorine @ every water change. Use your test kit on your tapwater to find out if it also contains chlorimine. The Nitrates will be high if chlorimine is pesent. Do these things ppl have suggested and your Oscars and Convicts will be happy fish. - best of luck.

That's not true. I've got well water (like a large majority of people) with nothing added to my water and it's not green & tastes great. It's underground 200 ft and pumped up from fast moving streams. The original poster might have well water, too. His/her parents will know.

I think you should get online and read up on cycling so you can better understand the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate cycle. If you have city water TREAT IT with prime. It takes a long time to get the gatorade look out of your water after using the API Fungus Cure. Keep doing your water changes.

As for filtration........definetly get another ac110 for that size of tank. you mentioned zeo carb. I dont even use carbon in my AC's i use double foam and as much biomax as will fit. NEVER rinse your bio max with tap water it will kill your beneficial bacteria. Siphon some of your tank water into a bucket. then slosh the bio max in it a bit. Dont let it dry out, leave it in the bucket till you get done with your water change and cleaning. Get your filters running after you have replaced the water and let them run about 5 mins or so then put the bio max back in.

Dont feel like we are attacking you......we have all been through the learning process. We just dont want you to have to learn the hard way as most of us did

Really:screwy:??? Did you even think before posting that? a lot of people have well water, i use it and so do a lot of people. I have never seen my water green and yes it does taste amazing and really cold.

You need to test for nitrates and nitrites also.

And yes these post do get old but atleast a majority of them learn and do what we say.
