Emergency Rubbermaid tank questions..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
another factor most don't take into consideration is all the bacteria in the substrate if you use it. if u'r substrate is loaded with bb then u'r filter pad won't have to house as much and therefore may not have enough to support your fish in the way you expect. so keep that in mind. and gl

I agree to a point except that the filter hold by far the largest portion of the bateria. There isnt much flow through gravel...however a filter has major flow 24 hours a day so the bacteria flourishes and doesnt take long to increase when needed. I wouldnt worry about the gravel. Ive done it with out touching the gravel several times with no problems or spikes.

I guess if you have MAJOR flow in your tank however there may be more than normal amounts of BB in it and it may be a good idea to keep in the rubbermaid

Thanks for the info guys, think I'm good to go now :)

just feed a little less during this period especially if the the rubbermaid is smaller than your original tank.
