Your best bet is to put him into a seperate tank, have a power head running in the tank along with your other filters. Make sure the water is in the mid to high 80's. Keep the lights off, and add salt. If it doesn't get better within 3 days, than you might have to try meds.

Just did a quick check

-The temp is at 82F
-Water is getting cloudy
-All of the other fish are fine
-No sign of improvement on the eye
-3/4 of the eye is bulging out of the socket
-White slime substance sticking onto the tip / surface of the lense
-Fish color turns black

and

I dont have a spare tank :irked: :cry:

Its a 35G long tank, I have put 6 teaspoon of table salt >.>;;

Not much I can do till fish shop open tomarrow at 12pm >.>;;

White things you saw are planaria. Worms due to dirty water.
Do daily water changes.
Table salt will kill your fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isnt their a 24 hour supermarket you can buy kosher salt or rock salt from?
35g is way too small for a St let alone any dat.
What filters are you using and how often do you change water?

The 35G was used as a quarantine tank (I took the fish home early and waiting for the fins to heal) then I will place him at my uncle's shop's tank (180G ~ 6x2x2). I got a gf waiting for him too :D

I do a water change in every 2-3 days, but since this incident occured, I changed it everyday now

No 24 hours supermarket around here, and I cant find any kosher salt or rock salt in lfs, but I got some rock sugar :irked:

Filter is marineland something (dual slot)

Just out of curiousity, does it affect human if swallowed? :eek: Id touched them and might have swallow some (forgot to wash hand) :irked:

AND

a little update

-took a day off from work
-just did a 25% water change
-the eye is in no better condition
-the slime is starting to affect the cornea
-added ERYTHROMYCIN ~

E.M ERYTHROMYCIN ~ from API ~ Its expensive ~ $20

I hope it work! :D

I dont think that it affects humans at all, but I would always wash very thoroughly just in case.
No rock sugar. Kosher salt is pretty cheap if you can find a market that carries it. API has things of rocksalt in most petstores too.
I noticed the same thing with the film and it would appear and disappear sometimes.
As far as planaria go, I am not so sure the worms I had are planaria. I changed 40-50% of water in my 20 gal quarantine tank everyday for around 6 months. I added treatments designed to combat worms, and there was no gravel in the tank and never any excess food lying around. Planaria, from what I gather, are not parasitic but eat the left-overs. The white worms I had ate my fish slowly but surely. I also did multiple full tank cleanings, salt baths, etc., but could not get rid of them.
I believe that parasites and worms reproduce at higher rates in warmer water also, so if this is the problem in the tank, you'll want to try to knock this out ASAP.

GOod Luck! Keep us updated.
