Hello; I have been seeing dogs in places lately where I never saw them before. In Kroger markets, Tractor Supply are two that come to mind. I reported to the manager at Kroger about a dog and was told he could not do anything. While I get that some dogs are not any nastier than some people I still do not want them around my food. Anyway I guess the new thing is to take a dog places and call them support animals.

I get that the blind need dogs and also some military veterans. I see these dogs sometimes and they often have a vest or some such with labels. These dogs are not a concern. I think they are well trained and screened for temperament.

I am pretty sure a lot of folks are calling a regular dog a support dog and that these dogs likely have little if any training. My guess is after a few big bucks law suits more companies will start banning most dogs.

On a plane you cannot have a gun nor a knife to defend yourself with from a dog attack.

Exactly, my dad had some friends over once(his house) and they had a real service dog. Also my brother just got a dog and it didn't like other dogs. It would bit the service dog's leg and the service dog totally ignored him and put up with it. He was very well trained.

Hello; I do not fly so may be wrong but haven't dogs ,cats and other animals been flown in cages in a separate area of a plane for decades. I guess the difference is now folks want to have an animal in the human passenger area.

To me it would be telling one way or the other. If she flushed it that would be a big clue one way or if she kept the animal a clue the other way.

What gets me is that you can easily buy the emotional support vests and service dog vests, which sucks for those dogs who are actually trained. I see posts all the time by folks who aren't allowed to keep their dogs at their rental, and others providing the advice of readily getting a doctor's note and emotional support vest for the dog even though they aren't trained.

It's easy to spot a fake service dog as the fake ones tend to be all over the place, and not waiting diligently by the owner.

The whole emotional support animal thing is just ridiculous IMO. People are simply saying that so they can take their pets wherever they want to go. An actual service dog for the blind or for the physically disabled is one thing , I have no prob with that, but emotional support? really? If you need to have an animal to support your emotional state in public then you have deeper issues than a simple animal can fix.

While I completely agree that emotional support animals out in public is ridiculous, it is quite remarkable how well they work.

I do not really like dogs anyway, they scare me for some reason lol

I have an emotional support dog that is just a pet.
I leave her at home but she very much calms me when I get home from a hard day.

There should be some sort of license for a support animal (if there isn’t already).
To keep people from slapping a vest on anything and taking with them.

Hello: looks like Delta has wised up a bit. Since I started this thread about a passenger bitten on a plane Delta seems to be getting more strict. Good for them. The backlash is to be expected in that some just want to take a dog on the plane. The claim is this dog is certified but it is my understanding these certifications are not hard to get.
Was'nt there a time when all animals had to ride in cages away from the passengers? Any way good for Delta.
