Emperor 400, penguin 350, aquaclear 100....

When it comes to hob filters I like the emp 400. I run an emp along side a p350 on my 60g. I custom pack my media and its keeps the tank pristine and clear. Then again the tank just one fish in it. I have even run an emp 400 on a 20 gal tank I love it so much

I personally like the emperor over the other two. Many people on hear will say Aqua Clear but I've never had any luck with them. The older models of the 350 were good but the last couple I've bought didn't last long at all.

The problems I have with the penguins is the lack of spray bars to turn the biowheels. The wheels never see unfiltered water and they stop turning when the flows through the filter pads slow.

That's how it always starts understock...lol and ends up overstocked.
