Emperor 400, Penguin 350 or AC 110??

I currently own all 3 and the ac500 is the best the 350 is noisy and the biowheels get hung up easy.:cry: The 400 is a good filter but it is a black bastered i can't see the bio wheel turn :angryfire it pisses me off.Get a ac 500 and chilerellno has got a tutorial on how to ad a bio wheel to it that makes it the the best hob ever:headbang2 .lol
 
I use both the AC and the Penquin 350 and I like both.
My 350's are not noisey. I have not used the Emp but I only see it
as a more expensive 350.
 
(my last post, forgot a couple words..)i've owned and used all 3 and penguin 350 sucks....clogs....ac 110/500 is nice but i love and now only use them on my smaller tanks............

edit.....forgot a couple words.......I meant to say all i use now is the emperor 400's on my smaller tanks......I just like the fact that i can change the cartridges in about 20 seconds as opposed to taking all the media out to clean it (ac 500).......I clean and or replace 1 out of the 4 cartridges in the filter about once a week or two and my water is always cryatal clear...............i've tried to set up the ac 500 on my 30 gal tank a while back and even with the leveler all the way out, and because of the big lip (where it hangs on to tank) I could never get it level............never had that problem with the emp 400......plug and go.....:D ;)

My Emp400 on my 55g with 9"m and 6"f Dempseys and 12" Pleco does great job keeping nitrates extremely low but it is a bit noisy. General complaint is cost of replacement media.
 
Everything is going to clog, and it took 3 months before my 350 started to clog. The reason the wheels don't always spin is because they aren't spray bar driven. My ammonia and nitrites are always 0 so I have no complaint, but I am going to be upgrading my mechanichal and biofilter within the next month.

Get the emp or the ac both good filters.
I cant see the point of the 350 Its just a stripped down cheaper version of the emperor for 10 bucks less. Not a great savings for losing the front biochamber and the better housing
 
i just took back two 400's that made a loud noise like it inlet tube wasnt fitting all the way down evean tho it was , i started off with one ,it first worked fine, then it started started to make a loud noise from the impailer area, took it apart cleaned it ..nothing, pluged it back same problem, took it back to pestmart, got anoth one, as soon as i pluged it in, same noise,now im mad, take it back ..missing the game..said fucc it , and got a 350, i thought the wheels are the same size, for some reason the ac's loook lik there not made as good as the penguins, maybe its just the two i got, but as soon as my 350 was primed, its been going with no problems, and i like the window, to see if the wheels are spining, the 400 u have to flip up the door every time, ill get anoth 350 for my 55 gallon, and call it a day!
