Just wondered what you other Marulioides Keepers out there are keeping as tankmates?
I know King-el has one of the most amazing com setups here any others?

I just got given a young Clown Knife from A guy who could no longer look after it, and have introduced it to my Marulioides tank (also containing a young Sailfin pleco).

All the fish in here so far are young, and I'm so excited for them to grow now!

Here is my new guy:

Here are my lil Marulioides Juveniles (2x blue spec):

i really like that clown knife's pattern, idk if it changes as they grow but if it stays that way when hes an adult he'll be one nice specimen.

I don't keep marulioides yet but I keep a large plec with my asiatica. I find the larger sailfin varieties cheap and hardy plus they can tolerate sub-trop temps. They don't take any nonsense of the asiatica either.
The good point is they keep control of the algae build up and excess food. If keeping a plec remember to feed it (they won't survive too long on just algae and excess snakehead food).
Please note I keep cheap/hardy sailfin plecs - don't go adding a few expensive rare L numbers it will end in tears.

I've been able to keep most monsters with my girl!

Stunning stuff ettfettbranamn.

How does your Aro get along?
I am interested as I have been offered a juvi Black Aro for nothing and am tempted to include in my Marulioides tank. Right now the Aro is around the same length as my Marus.

Also what kind of temper is your Knife got?
Mine swims around and is cool with the Maru's, but noticed it has been nipping chunks from my sailfins dorsal!

Cheers for your lovely pics.

well.. since it is a channa you can count on the aggression coming from her/him.. she is territorial as hell but she never does any real damage. I'd say they are more aggressive against top swimming fish so aros are definately a gamble and nothing that I recommend. I'd possibly try it since they are pretty small? (I take it) and therefore the damage done would probably be harmless enough to give you time to separate. marulioides are probably the most docile sp channa I've ever kept even though I've "managed" to com both auranti and micro that are spiecies with reputation of being true terrors. I guess I have done this since I'm a newbie compared to many of the real experts on here and if I were you I'd listen to their advice on single sp tanks for the sake of the fish. Me on the other hand, I'm not done experimenting yet but hopefully I'll grow up as well. hahaha..

All my fish are non aggressors but will definately defend themselves with all means.. It's all about finding balance.. some fish just can't stand other spiecies and others just have very bad personal chemistry.. it's all trial and hoping for the best..

best of luck to you whatever you decide to do but I'd take the advice from the true experts since my tank is and will remain an experiment even if it's a succesful one..

thank you for the kind words!

compliments on a fantastic looking tank, great achievement, some real big fish there.:)

I can not see its flower.
Ole'

Yes they don't seem to develop more flower compare to the regular yellow variant. My yellow one develop lots of flowers at small size of 9". My blue started to develop around 14-15" and today their are just few of them.
