I bet you could find more reliable information about a scorpion on a scorpion forum than you could a fish forum...

Or at least if you were to post in the ‘Reptile, Amphibian & Other Exotic Pets’ folder…

And aren't you supposed to learn what an animals needs BEFORE you buy it?

That would be to easy.

they where having a sale i was plain on getting one later this month but they wher saling it of 5 bucks and i couldnt pass it up i did learn lol they need tunnles a tank not deadly eat 4 crickits a week.

20 Gallon is fine. They do like to have a heat pad under the tank. A very shallow bowl of water should be provided. They do like soil for substrate to burrow, and if you add at least 4 inches worth of substrate in the bottom of the tank, and keep it moist the Scorpion will burrow in it.

This should be in the reptiles etc. forum.

Feed it gut-loaded crickets, and I THINK that brown soil used for reptiles should be fine. Give it plenty of hiding spots such as a cave. I presume it needs water.

ok cool thanks guys he is crawling all over my hand lol and the tank

Moved.

Correct.

They don't need a heat pad, generally arachnids do fine at room temps. In the winter a space heater in the room is fine. A heat pad is not a good idea in my opinion as it can be a little drying, and will cause the soil and scorp to dry out faster. As this is a moisture loving species that would not be a good thing.

Def. need a water dish, full of fresh water, not those water crystals. You don't really need to gutload crickets for arachnids. That is more for reptiles and amphibians. If you hydrate your crickets first though, that is beneficial as they get alot of moisture from their prey.

Also, because they need a moist environment you need to be pretty careful about picking out leftover food remains, or you will quickly get mites, which aren't really harmful, just annoying. They are predatory mites that scamper all over the cage and even outside of it.

www.arachnoboards.com is a great site for arachnid info.:)
