emp & penguin owners we all know that a 6 pack of size c filters at a lfs is about 17$. i was at wal-mart and saw aqua-tech size 3 filters 6 pack for 9.50$ so i bought em, come to find out they are the exact same thing! even the black frame has the same model number. i dont know if you guys already know this but thought i'd share.

Everything is the same. I have used these for years in my Penguin filters and I have found that they work better.

Penguin Mini, BIO-Wheel Mini, 100 Bio-Wheel - EZ-Change #1
Penguin BIO-Wheel 110, 120, 125, and 150 - EZ Change #2
Penguin BIO-Wheel 160, 170, 200, 300, 330, 350 - EZ Change #3

You can get them for the Explorer and Eclipse systems, too, but not for the Emperor. Sorry all Emperor owners!!

I never change the cartridges on my filters. I suppose if you have the money and time to waste every 2 weeks in the interest of crystal clear water, though....

I only replace mine when the BIO-Wheel no longer spins. I kind feel that this should be a sticky!!

Also, if you have a Regent Aqua-Tech, you can modify a BIO-Wheel for it. If you do, you should remove the Bio-Fiber if your Aqua Tech has it.

P.S. They don't sell cartridges for Millennium Filters at walmart. The Whisper Medium fist Primo and Millennium 1000, but the regular size/large does NOT fit the Millennium 2000 or 3000!

I have these. I throw everything away that comes with them because it is garabage, but I use the clamshells and put what ever type of mechanical filter pad u want in them.
